A Celebration of Colors

The Pride of San Antonio Showband celebrated it's fifth birthday in June, 2018. To celebrate, the band performed a concert, "A Celebration of Colors". This concert was also the band's celebration of the City of San Antonio's 300th birthday, and as such was an official Tricentennial event. I was tasked with creating the collateral materials for this event (flyers, postcards, concert programs) as well as this large-format poster. The concert's title, A Celebration of Colors, was intended to celebrate the vibrant nature of San Antonio; the music selected featured the many diverse cultures that have shaped San Antonio over the last 300 years. For this poster, I used Illustrator to create the papel picado that decorates the top half of the poster. Some of the papel picado features the skyline of San Antonio, and the other features versions of the band's logo. The wordmark was also created in illustrator, and the colorful bokeh background was taken from stock art and modified in photoshop to show off the bright colors.
